Mike & Emma | Central Park, Seaport District, & East Village Engagement Session

Last September I photographed a proposal on a boat during a huge storm in Annapolis. I was just shy of my second trimester, and hadn’t yet told the world that I was expecting. When Mike sent an inquiry my way a month prior, with his extravagant plan to propose to Emma at sunset on a boat near where they grew up (knowing I was pregnant, knowing I wasn’t feeling great), I knew I wanted to be there. So I bought a rain jacket and hoped for the best. We were SOAKED by the end of the day – but it was amazing! Mike & Emma drove all the way from NYC for Mike’s big “surprise day” (you can read all about it HERE on How He Asked).

Long story short — I am honored to be photographing their wedding this upcoming June at the Chesapeake Maritime Museum! They asked me to photograph them in New York City, their current home, and of course I said yes!

We started in Central Park at the Loeb Boathouse, traveled to Bow Bridge, hopped in an Uber and found ourselves in the Seaport District, and finally ended up in their neighborhood of East Village! We ended the shoot at their favorite spot where they get Prossecco on Tap… and people wonder why I want to live in New York!

Mike & Emma, we love knowing you two and can’t wait to celebrate you in June!

Kimmie, these pictures are stunning and I’m excited to get every single one! The setting, your subjects-fabulous and amazing! And I am not biased at all! 😄 Thank you for being there and photographing all of Emma and Mike’s happiness! ❤️, Maria (Emma’s mom)
