Mt. Vernon Engagement: Sarah & Joey

August… Summer feels like it’s over. As if there’s nothing left. You’ve started to dream about the crisp air, and the sweaters you’ve had locked up in your cedar chests since March. The picture of a boiling cup of coffee in your hands, as you sit out on a porch overlooking the gorgeous ombre hues of fall. The leaves are falling, your boots are stomping… but it’s only going to get colder.

I’m here to introduce a little Fall into your summer, give you a tiny gift. I want to send you on your way, enjoying the heat, before you’re locked up in your house for the rest of the year because it’s too cold to sit outside. Here’s a bit of Fall if your heart is craving the scene above!

Sarah and Joey are the sweetest – I know I say that about all of my couples, though, so maybe I need to start choosing more specific, descriptive adjectives. 😉 I’m not a poet, sadly, so I would hardly do justice to how these two should be described!

Here’s what I know, and love, about them: Sarah and Joey have been dating long distance for a long time. It wasn’t until a few weeks ago that they finally lived in the same city. They have managed to grow their relationship, and maintain their unity over time and distance. That test makes or breaks couples. Distance is no small feat, especially when conquering it before marriage! They managed it with grace, compassion, and patience.

Today, they get to end the distance between them forever. I can’t wait to see them tie the knot, and celebrate at Evergreen Museum.
